We can provide costumes and splurge guns for Bugsy Malone, plus the gun from Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf. We also have a range of other costumes, mostly of the rather unusual, punk/gothic variety. These costumes have been used in 'After Juliet' by Sharman Macdonald, Gothic Rock Musicals, Terry Pratchett's 'Wyrd Sisters', 'Perilous Tales' and many other strange and wonderful shows!
**Please note all our Bugsy costumes and guns are fully booked until the end of the summer term. We are now taking bookings for September - December and beyond!**

Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf
A rather specialised gun is required for this play! We made one that fires flowers ... Looks very real and has produced many gasps in performance!
"Just to let you know that so far the gun has been a resounding success....I am sure lots of other Companies would welcome such a fine piece of engineering. Most have had to make do with bang flags and other rather inferior things, so I was delighted to find you!"
Jenny Hobson, Director, Sewell Barn Theatre, Norwich.
Bugsy Malone
"Thanks, the kids looked great and the costumes and guns really made the show. We will definately use you again for further shows."
Liz Christensen, Long Field School, Melton Mowbray

The problem with Bugsy Malone is also the attraction ... it's VERY messy! When we came to put this on with the local Youth Theatre we quickly discovered that nobody really wants you to use their costumes because you absolutely cannot guarantee that they won't end up covered in splurge. So, we decided to invest in a few suits that could be splurged, washed and splurged again. We now have many suits ranging from a ladies size 18 to a suit small enough for a 10 year old. They are all washable. We also have trilbys.
The next set of costumes you'll need are for the showgirls .. well, they ARE showgirls! We have a variety of costumes for the more 'showy' moments. Shiny close fitting dresses with long black fringing for the opening number plus matching headbands, calf length dresses with boa necklines for the Tallulah number (Tallulah has a different dress) and black dresses for the finale (washable - they need to be!)
We also have a lot of 1920s style dresses for a range of other characters, including dresses suitable for Blousey. Have a look at the gallery to see what we can provide.
Our costumes are designed with a cast of age range 10 - 14 in mind. We do offer a special price for the hire of guns and costumes together (see below)

Should we need to carry out gun repairs or replace costumes we will advise you before banking your deposit cheque. We will then return the balance to you. Care of Costumes
Slurge is pretty evil stuff! We found the best way to get splurge off costumes, blacks or anything else, is to deal with it immediately. For that purpose we advise you to have people armed with water and sponges at the side of the stage and in the dressing rooms. Sponge the splurge off the costumes THE MINUTE THEY COME OFF STAGE! After the show you may need to clean more thoroughly - if you can have people doing this backstage throughout the show all the better (really you need have a laundry industry going on throughout the show - get lots of volunteers!) If you leave the splurge on overnight it will be very difficult to get off and may stain quite badly. We would be VERY grateful if you could look after these costumes. We will wash all the costumes ourselves, we only require you to sponge splurged costumes thoroughly before returning.
If you get splurge on the blacks sponge it off as soon as you can do so!
Ditto with the floor or set - close tabs in the interval and clean up - it gets very tacky. If Fizzy or Joe the Barman can clean up with mops & cloths and still stay in character you'll find it very useful!
Other Costumes
We have a range of other costumes that fall loosely into the the 'fantasy', 'gothic' or 'slightly strange' category! They have been used for Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters, a Gothic Rock Musical and many other weird and wonderful shows. We can hire them out as single costumes, but only for productions! We do not hire out for parties or other events. Many of our costumes were made for stage and do not bear close scrutiny (but look fantastic on stage). We'll be adding more of these as we can (currently in the process of moving premises). Please enquire if you think we might be able to help out with your costume requirements.
